With Conviction, Healing Begins and Our Work Continues
George Floyd will forever be a reminder of a system of racial injustice. While the verdict will never bring real justice to him, his family, and to many others, it is an important and hopeful first step towards healing and overdue reform. It is now up to all of us to continue the work and fight for racial equality. We are honored to have been doing this work for years and grateful to be able to continue to do so.
Our hearts go out to the family and friends of George Floyd who have suffered so much in the last year. Thank you to all in the Minnesota justice system for your dedicated work towards fairness and accountability. Thank you to the witnesses for your courage to relive your trauma and testify. And thank you to the jurors for seeing the truth and reaching the right verdict.
Through our collective action, George Floyd’s death and the conviction can be a catalyst for real and enduring social change in the fight for racial justice in America. We have the potential to make this moment the start of a historic shift – please join us in this effort. We are, and will remain, committed to moving forward on this path.
