March 8, 2018 – Wanta Thome PLC is proud to welcome Scott Moriarity to the firm. As partner, Scott joins the firm’s class and complex litigation practice group, bringing years of experience litigating employment and consumer disputes throughout Minnesota and the United States. In addition, Scott brings his knowledge and expertise in the area of private disability benefits law and will lead the firm in advocating for employees who have been unlawfully denied short-term and long-term disability benefits in violation of the Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
A cum laude graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, Scott served as law clerk to several judges in state and federal courts, including, Judge Mark S. Wernick in Hennepin County District Court, Judge Wilhelmina M. Wright in the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and Magistrate Judge Jeanne J. Graham in the U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota. Prior to joining Wanta Thome PLC, he practiced at the law firm of Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P. Scott is an active member of the Federal Bar Association, where he has provided pro bono representation through its Pro Se Project and worked on the Minnesota Chapter’s legal education committee. An engaged community member, Scott serves on the board of In the Heart of the Beast Mask and Puppet Theater, which supports theater and school-age programming on diversity and the environment.
