November 9, 2017 – Wanta Thome PLC is proud to support Empower Leadership Academy for Girls and their inaugural Gala on Thursday, November 16, 2017. Empower is a nonprofit organization focused on teaching girls the skills to be the leaders of tomorrow. Founded in 2014 by former head coach of the University of Minnesota’s Women’s Basketball team, Pam Borton, Empower provides girls the opportunity to build leadership skills, confidence, public speaking skills, self-esteem, resilience, and techniques for coping with bullying, pressure and stress through academies that feature community leaders facilitating interactive workshops.
Empower’s fundraising Gala will take place on Thursday, November 16th at the Vikings Event Center in downtown Minneapolis. Lindsay Whalen from the Minnesota Lynx and Pam Borton will be on hand to meet attendees and discuss the great work of organization. Proceeds go to support Empower’s leadership development academies and provide tuition assistance for girls to attend.
